Our main focus in life as a christian;(even as a non-believers) we must learn how to have a consistency in our cultivating relationships spiritually, emotionally, and physically. This is a growing list including friends, family, employers or employees, business partners children the list can go on and on as we begin to look at the world in a bigger scale as God has called us to.. Let’s look at it God has called us as his disciples as his sons and daughters of God,to move boldly in the spirit and to preach the word of God;the gospel the good news to make other disciples to affect the city, the state, the nation and of course other nations!! Take a look at the work of Jesus planting the seed for us to have the Kingdom of God. Christ as the Seed
1st Corinthians 11:1 “says be imitators of me just as I also am of Christ.” This was our epistle no other than Paul who in fact was against making disciples in the beginning as Saul before God converted him he persecuted Christians and was completely again Christianity.
1st Peter 2:21 “for you have been called for this purpose since Christ also suffered for you leaving you an example for you to follow in his steps.” We Know by his actions the first thing that he did with his ministry on foot was gathered disciples he quoted The Living Word because he was the Living Word As We Know. He taught the disciples in a way that would create the foundation of the church today.Check out the Cost of Discipleship
John 14:15 “if you love me you will keep my Commandments.” We later see an Acts that there was a commandment from Jesus. Take a look at acts 10:42 and he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that it is he who was ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead to him the prophets witness that through his name whoever believes in him will receive remission of sins”. Is the good news and this is what Christ came to teach us to do as well through our actions and following his guidance as our Shepherd our Lord Our King.
Matthew 10:38 “and he who does not take this cross and follow after me is not worthy of me” Jesus here makes a standard as a disciple it makes a statement of sincere love for our Lord and sincere dedication with sincere suffering and sacrifice. If we cannot live up to these things that Christ spoke we are not worthy of him standing on our behalf
Now that we have a firm understanding and we should be cultivating relationships we should obtain people by the way react in the way we live. The word cultivate means prepare and use land for cropping or gardening. Interesting enough Christ spoke in Parables to us about us being trees and that we would produce fruits by the way we would worship, from our actions and our faithfulness. In the another term cultivate it also means with planting and cropping that we are to loosen and break up the soil about growing the plant to foster the growth of that plant to improve by labor, care or study.
Galatians Chapter 5 Fruit of Spirits. Speaks of the way of breaking up the soil in our lives personally as well with those God personally has called you to share with others in your walk and life time.
Now to cultivate is to also to try and acquire or develop a quality or sentiment or skill, this is personal when it comes to our walk in Christ. We are developing a spiritual relationship with our Lord and savior, a quality of the spiritual Essence and power from the Holy Spirit.
A skill we are giving the gifts of the Spirit so that we have inside of us, could foster and loosen up or “break the soil” of people’s hearts to produce discipleship, a new birth and creation of the life for the kingdom of God! This is our Calling and why we have been chosen. We are planters of Gods word to everyone that comes into our lives period.
