“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 KJV
The production of fruit comes from a hand in our lives that bows when to purge our vine and collectively bind up our fruits. The Lord is the hand, he is known in John Chapter 15 as the Husbandman.
Purge; Kathairo 2508- Purgeth from John 15:2 (akin to Katharos, to cleanse, to make free from admixture, translated “to purify” in
Acts 15:9, Titus 2:14; Heb. 9:23)- cleansing, or clean
John 15:2 “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
Verse 3 confirms purging from the vine is meaning to cleans the vine. “Now yes are “clean” through “the word” which I have spoken unto you”
Before we enter battle as His warriors to produce fruit or plant seeds. We must be cleansed from the previous battles. This takes patience, and understanding for the overall outcome for the Kingdom. Just like a tree that produces fruit, it must be pruned. It must be cleaned; removal of unnecessary branches, withered leaves and fruits. This is like us. Though we fail to admit it.
Battles are used to plant, remove strongholds, overall gain for the Kingdom. However it’s much than that. If we have to ability to station ourselves in His commands and words we can see His love. He cares of our Spiritual Conditions!
Verse 4 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”
Abide; Meno 3306- continue in, tarry, fix yourself within, ground, station, be found in
Before we find ourselves battling the enemy, or walking in the Spirit to conquer something or minister to people we should discern when The Lord needs to clean us up. There is no shame in being cleaned from battling, striving toward the mark.
So today take the time to Soul check with The Lord and see is it time to let Him Purge us back as a Church. Let His word wash us clean.
In closing, the word for this become free from admixtures of previous battles or event! There is a fresh wine being poured, but we have to have a new wine skin to hold it. Find no shame in your efforts at walking with The Lord!
God bless you in Jesus Name
