OVERCOMING TEMPTATION

🔥☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️✝☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️🔥Walking in the footsteps of Christ carrying your cross upon the narrow road is something anyone can do, but sadly, most choose not to. Instead of denying the flesh and the lusts thereof, more and more believers are giving over to the desires of their hearts, falling to temptation which leads to acting on sin or even continually living in sin. This world has been smitten by a curse, the curse of the sickness of sin, and all who dwell upon it or within it fall prey to sin every day.

Our spirit is willing to overcome the lusts of our flesh but the flesh is weak, and in certain moments, the flesh will override the spirit drowning out the voice that says “No! Don’t do it!” When we are faced with temptation, God ALWAYS makes a way for us to escape. We face sin every day, but we do not have to act upon it! Jesus is the only way we can override the flesh. He is the Door to freedom from the chains and bondage of sin.
Discovering how to overcome temptation is a try/fail process if we do not stay rooted and grounded in His Word. God said that where sin is, His grace abounds; does that mean we have a license to sin? God forbid! Yes His grace is for us in these moments… and SO IS HE! The very moment that temptation comes into our midst, we hear it, see it, or feel it: RUN TO JESUS AS FAST AS YOU CAN! HE IS THE WAY to overcome temptation!
It’s a long process for most, to reach the point of sanctification in Christ, because of the tainted sin nature of this cursed corrupted world and of our flesh. Once a believer has come to sanctification though, which to ••”sanctify” something is to set it apart for special use, to “sanctify” a person is to make him holy••, at this point their flesh has been tried and refined and crucified completely with Christ. There is a stage that a believer comes to where they no longer want the disgusting flesh desires to even touch them; where they think of sex AKA fornication out of marriage and it turns their stomach sick; a point where nothing else matters except JESUS CHRIST KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!
It’s a long journey, being tested, tempted, and tried around every corner and every bend in the narrow road, but when a believer FINALLY GETS THERE… To this place of peace and freedom from the bondage of sin and flooding thoughts of temptation… It’s so peaceful… like a paradise! To NOT WANT the common pleasures of this world, to be strong enough in The Lord to walk away, to no longer desire to please or satisfy ourselves but rather to deny ourselves, starving the flesh, feeding the spirit. For the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. So you see, we NEED Jesus! He is the One who saved us from the destruction of our very souls, from the eternal burning of hellfire and brimstone! He is the One Whom we call upon in our times of distress or trouble, trial or temptation.
In the All-Powerful name of Jesus Christ, we can do all things! He promised us that “no weapon forged against us can prosper”, and temptation is a weapon of the enemy satan. God stands true to His Word and His promises are eternal “yes and amen”! If we resist temptation the devil will flee. If we gear up with the Full Armor of God, the devil will flee! Remember, God ALWAYS provides an escape route! Temptation is a form of a trial, and trials build us up as if a “training mode”, where the testing of our faith increases patience, and with increased patience we build up endurance to keep marching, to keep fighting the good fight of faith!
So rejoice when you come under trial, temptation, tribulation; for these OVERCOMERS shall receive the crown of life! Thank and praise God for these when they come your way, it’s the LAST THING that the devil will be expecting you to do! Plus, it glorifies God. Praise Him in the storm!

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.🔥James 4:7🔥

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.🔥Ephesians 6:11🔥

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.🔥1 Corinthians 10:12-14🔥

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.🔥James 1:12-16🔥

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.🔥Hebrews 4:15-16🔥

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”🔥Matthew 26:41🔥

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.🔥James 1:2-4🔥
