The very gift of prayer is poured into us when faith is awakened in us. How beautiful it can be to see a friend or a spouse with a beautiful gift. Just seeing God use then and watching them grow can be much like this image we see. However what happens to the gift when permission of that gift is taken?
A gift with no love describes just what it does and powerful it can be to the believer and others.
Many Christians fail to see their side in prayer being a big deal. Did you know our prayers can be hindered by our attitude towards others? Yeah I would say that’s a big deal. When we look at it it’s so not worth it at all.
We are called in Christ Romans 1:6 Yet do we act like we have a call on our life when the waves of seas touch our feet? The Bible teaches us that we reign in life by Christ Romans 5:17. The Bible teaches in
2 Corinthians 5:17 us that we are a new creature in Christ, yet how do we look? Can we see the similar patterns in our lives? The Bible tells us that we are created in Christ unto good works Ephesians 2:10.
So how come when it comes to a prayer life many Christians possible feel hindered by their own life. Could it be related to their relationships and priorities, yes. It’s however not about that only but the inner working within them. The question is how do you treat them? How do you treat you life? How do you treat your friends, co workers, boss, and lastly you spouse or family members!
The Bible teaches gifts can be nothing more than a sight for sore eyes with a fleshly attitude.
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
1 Corinthians 13:1 KJV
The Word glōssa means: a tongue, the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations
This implies that even though we are given a language possibly among angels or of The Kingdom without the influence and work of love through our mortal bodies the speaking of such words to either men or angels are just noise in the atmosphere. Can you imagine it? A wounded cry from a believer who has not forgiven their brother or has bitterness towards his spouse. Can you believe that even though that cry is legitimately painful and sufferable towards God, do you believe he will answer that prayer? Job 35:13-“Surely God will not listen to an empty cry” God also sees the heart, either its forgiving and repented or hardened and bitter.
We can not expect the prayers to God or teaching to the church to be effective and powerful if the very lips that speak without love from the heart and speech. Is this someone you know? Perhaps yourself?
Maybe it’s time to pray a prayer with a heart of repentance. One that is beyond just your own heart but for others too. Prayer isn’t meant to be hard but simple. However because of a dead relationship with Jesus and a hardened heart you find communication hard. Jesus said,
John 14:6-” I am the truth, and the way, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me” The Bible teaches in Psalm 103:14-” for he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.” The Lord can see what we are made of durning every part of our life. He can also know when we are broken in our sin. Psalm 51:17. In Psalm 66 speaks of God not listening because he knows if we have cherished sin in our hearts. Are you feeling like the heavens are closed off? Maybe God has stopped answering your call? Do you feel like your a sounding brass crashing in the night?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Lord reveal to me anything that is hindering my prayer life, and help me to get rid of it quickly. If there is any arrogance in me, pretense, manipulation, bitterness, ruthlessness, or lack of faith in you, forgive and cleanse me, Lord. I forgive those who have wronged me as you have forgiven me. I thank you for your loving kindness and patience. I’m tired of being the one who’s blocking myself from being close to you as possible and receiving what you desire to give me. Unhinge me, I pray from any hinderance of prayer. Open me up so you can work without them though me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
