10 Ways to Love (Listening)

By God Head Disciple Ministry

Proverbs 18 Speaks from a perspective of viewing a persons mouth, and how the tongue can cause division, death, and yes importantly Life. Friendliness can be made of its speech and yet destruction can also be birthed from it.

In the 10 Ways to Love series I will try to cover as many ways to use these equipping and acknowledging facts from the Word of God. As I myself study and apply I can also share with each of you the struggle and breakthrough that Knowledge and faith can bring when you apply.

We can see in Verse 4 that God is saying this in a fact of the matter, Hey your words are deep waters, The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook. This means what we say flows out of us from the deepest part of who we are. It is like where our Hearts are as well that is where Our treasure is. Yes. God is saying that If we are in His wisdom, and life, His words will be on Our lips.

So when we experience the time for correction and guidance from followers, are we able to receive it. That is a great way to test our heart and how we love. I m my own experience I was able to be reminded how we can become far from humility and guidance without knowing it, thinking that we are okay. A fools mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.” Lets just say In verse 12 reaffirms verse 7,” and before honor is humility.” This showed me where my heart was lying at that current time, its was filled with self exultation and not humility and love. The reason why I say that is because In verse God speaks through Solomon the wise man He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him. Boy there is nothing more embarrassing than being corrected by not listening after your being corrected or guided in love by someone else.

What I failed to see was Listening is Loving, knowledgeable and honoring

Listening involves a heart of a prudent follower, so that we acquire the knowledge God has in store for us. (vrs. 15) Prudent means first that you act patiently to care or thought for the future. So In being patient, I m must be willing to invest in my future by listening to others. This manifests LOVE. To listen we must have a ear for wisdom and knowledge. Remember that proverbs that says lean not on your own understanding. (vrs. 15)This is reaffirming that we all need a ear to hear so that we are guided by God not ourselves, who are prone to sinning. This is Love. If you love God, you will love your Brother. Or for this matter anyone who is attempting to love you enough to help you and challenge you to change. The least we can do is accept the honor by being humble and lean into the wise counsel.

Reminder God gives warnings, like in verse 19, 21,24 that says we can put ourselves in strange situations that causes strife or division. So I leave you with encouragement and with my own experience. God corrects those He loves;Heb. 12:6. God calls us to Discipleship; Matt 18:16-20. God gives us life through truth, His word. You are loved if you are corrected or guided. Learn to love around you those who seek to help you, so that you can invest in someone else today. Disciples making Disciples. God bless you.

    Listening is a ministry.
Many man and woman of God like to speak more than to listen. They try to jump into conclusion before knowing the real truth.
Your post is very good and useful for current ministry.
I wish we all carry the same heart.
